Honestly this show should be the poster child for how NOT to include a feminist agenda in television. I agree with most of the stuff they were talking about but even I felt like it was forced and out of place. The original show had female strength and empowerment without the blatant feminist sentence every two minutes.
Holy.... Okay, I really enjoyed the first episode of the second season. They changed the special effects and the props so they look so much better now. The tone is so much better, and no cringe worthy dialogue this time around. Also, genuine acting from most of the actors. Leagues better than anything in season 1. I feel like it's finally growing into the show I know it can be.
I was really hoping this show would be good. It was an interesting concept, but was just completely destroyed by the crappy production. The acting was incredibly underwhelming (I was expecting more from the actresses from OUAT because they were amazing there.). There were also numerous inaccuracies about the the time period (things that were way too modern for the late 1980s). Overall just too campy and cheesy for me. I can admire them for trying to use the same tone as older horror movies, but
The amazing cgi does not make up for the dull characters and story. I watched the entire season hoping to see the "amazing" world that I'd heard so much about from people who read the books, but the show fell flat. Disappointing. I will not be watching the second season. 1/10
Wasn't sure about this show at the beginning, but it picks up a lot around episode 5. Big improvements in quality as well. It's not the best show out there, but definitely isn't as bad as some people are trying to make it seem. I can't wait to see how much it improves for season 2.
